It’s a tale as old as time, boy falls for the girl next door. But it’s 2010 and as such, this story has all the great features of a millennial love story.

One day Andrea glances across the street and sees him. Tall, gorgeous, and getting into an Audi TT, which happened to be one of her favorite cars at the time. She didn’t know his name, but she didn’t have to. Because from that moment on, to family, friends, and really anyone that would listen, he was now known as…. Audi Boy.

Meanwhile, Gio had noticed Andrea too, specifically her Celica GTS, and her… body kit. What followed was a sophisticated courtship that really captures the ‘Fast & Furious’ vibes of that era. Two people revving their engines at each other on a residential street. They called it car-flirting, and from there on it was full throttle ahead.

Now, Gio had yet to speak to her, so naturally he did what any bold, confident man of the time would do. He added her on Facebook. When Andrea saw the friend request, she didn’t know who this was, but decided he looked cute and accepted. When he messaged her and asked if she knew who he was, she responded with “why, am I supposed to?”

He told her he was her neighbor, and he mentioned he drove the BMW up the street. She said she didn’t know anyone who drove a BMW, and quietly died a little inside, because Audi Boy drives, well.. an Audi.

So she casually, very nonchalantly, asked if he happened to know the guy on the street with the Audi.

He said, “That’s me!” Apparently he had sold the Audi, and suddenly hope was renewed.

That was 15 years ago. They’ve since experienced many of life’s greatest and toughest milestones together. College, career pivots, a first apartment, adventurous camping trips, and an embarrassing number of cars between them. Andrea even had an Audi TT of her own at some point, because who doesn’t love a full circle moment. These days she drives a Miata, Gio drives a Porsche, and they’re getting married in the desert this summer.

Where the story yet again comes full circle and Andrea will become, Mrs. Audi Boy.
